PLACES OF INTEREST

Suffolk has been made famous by so many people. Two of it's artists, Gainsborough and Constable captured the enormous blue skies, golden fields and the spirit of the people.

SUDBURY, 8 miles away, is a small market town which lies on the banks of the river Stour. Sudbury was the birth place of Thomas Gainsborough and is home to the Gainsborough museum.

LAVENHAM is about 5 miles away. The wealth from the wool industry helped establish delightful villages like Lavenham, where charming timber framed houses draw visitors from all over the world.

BURY ST. EDMUNDS, 7 miles away offers it's twice weekly market and award winning gardens, which are set among the ruins of the Benedictine Abbey. This is where barons met prior Magna Carter.

LONG MELFORD, 5 miles away is famed for it's antique shops and Elizabethan stately homes and was also the setting for BBC TV's Lovejoy.

With it's position at the hub of East Anglia - Brighthouse Farm is the ideal base to explore many places of interest further afield. The neighbouring counties of Norfolk and Essex are within easy access. Also coastal towns and villages, including Southwold, Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe are well worth visiting.
